Anti-virus programs for tablets?

Not-quite mrs. redduck has a Samsung tablet. I think the Android system is involved (maybe I didn’t quite phrase this correctly). Anyhow, the question is: would it be prudent to use an anti-virus program with the tablet? If so, which program might be preferable?
