Blocking Unwanted Texts

Timely post. I got my first unsolicited text yesterday from a political organization asking me to vote a certain way so I can be part of a wave or something.

I find this very out of line. Texts cost on many plans.

So, I actually replied asking for removal and they replied back saying I'm off their list. I'm still baffled that this is legal!

I saw a headline yesterday that a group was suing Beto O’Rourke (Democratic Senate candidate here in Texas) for sending unwanted text messages soliciting votes and donations. I couldn’t see the article because it was behind a paywall. I received a text from the Beto campaign several months ago asking for money. I responded in no uncertain terms that I did not want to receive any further texts. They politely responded that my number would be removed from their lists.
