Home economics classes , anyone remember?

Our high school had them but they were an elective. I didn't take any of them.

Shop and Home Ec were eliminated soon after I had them due to Prop 2 1/2 in Mass.



I learned a lot of basic stuff from them, although much was likely not appreciated at the time. Wish the schools brought them back as well as civics class, so people learn basics of government.

I am so grateful typing was a required course in 10th grade. I'm still amazed at other lawyers that use two fingers to type. We have forced by kids to learn how to type at much younger age so they aren't keyboard "peckers."

I was raised by a single mom so I learned a lot of home skills at a young age. I still can't sew to give a damn but I am an excellent cook. I do the grocery shopping and plan our meals according to what is on sale. DW is way better at the child rearing than I am. I lack patience.
