This is what is showing when I login to the M&T Bank website. The sentence I emphasized is what is irritating me:

You agree to receive information about Web Banking electronically, including all disclosures, agreements and other documents relating to Web Banking presented in this online enrollment. You acknowledge that you have a personal computer or other access device which is capable of accessing the Internet to review and retain this electronic information. You must have an Internet web browser which is capable of supporting 128-bit SSL encrypted communications. Your access to this page verifies that your browser and encryption software meet these requirements. You must have software which permits you to receive and access Portable Document Format or "PDF" files, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader® version 5.0 or newer. You agree that you will print a paper copy or save all account opening disclosures to retain for your records. You understand that M&T Bank will not provide you with any disclosures in paper form to you unless you request them by calling _______or visiting an M&T Bank branch.

M&T Bank may provide account information to you electronically by display on M&T Bank's website (including during this online enrollment) or by e-mail to your e-mail address provided to M&T Bank by you.
You have the right on request to receive account information in paper form and to withdraw your consent to receive account information electronically; however if you do so, we reserve the right to close your M&T Web Banking relationship. To withdraw your consent to receive the account information electronically or to change your contact information for electronic communications, call the above toll-free telephone number or visit an M&T Bank branch.

end of quote

I like to check accounts online, but my other half likes to have a statement in the mail.

So - I guess I reserve the right to change banks if they withdraw web access. Not only is it an expense for check printing, it is such a hassle since we have several accounts.

Don't you have a printer? Adobe Reader is free and prints pdf files. Seems like you could print your "other half" copies for their use and you could just look on-line. One of my CU charge $.50 for a "mailed copy" so the pdf seems like the route for me. However, I am with you when you say you may find another bank and if it bothered me I would not wait.

"we reserve the right to close your M&T Web Banking relationship"

So, IIRC, you open up an ONLINE banking account that give you some advantages for being ONLINE... at a reduced cost to the bank.... and they say to you that if YOU wish to not have a true online account, they will close your "Web Banking relationship", which I read to mean they will move you to a normal banking account that you can access online just like anybody else but not have the online advantages that you have now.... I don't see a problem with this... if you want an online account, have an online account.... if you want a regular account, have a regular account...

I bet there is a bank somewhere in the USA that would like another customer. This is a sign.

You should call the "above number" referenced in their statement and see if they really want you to leave. Bet they'll backtrack.
