Someone posted this experience on Twitter:

The elevator doors opened up and a guy walked in the elevator. It was just me and him in there and he said "I love you."

I'm not rude so I said, "I love you, too"

He gave me a weird look and pointed at his Bluetooth.

Now that’s funny. Haha.

Reminds me of the time I was on the phone with a close co-worker. She was a busy working Mom, and I knew she'd been fielding phone calls from her spouse and kids all day, and was pretty frazzled, trying to get her work done, too.

So when, just before hanging up, she said "I love you," I knew it was just reflexive and not directed at me, personally.

It took her a minute or two before she realized what she'd said and called me back to apologize. We both had a good laugh.

A variation I guess - women always used to say to me "Yeah, and I'm the Queen of Sheba".

I have not encountered anyone claiming to be the Queen of Sheba, but just recalled this music with the French title "La Reine de Saba".

PS. Upon further research on the Web, I found that the above song has the exact title of "Ma Reine de Saba" ("My Queen of Saba"), which makes more sense for a love song than "La Reine de Saba" ("The Queen of Saba").

Saw this today:

This would explain why Picard, the most English person ever to walk aboard a starship, continues to claim he is French.

Whenever we see a dinosaur at a museum or whatever, my wife and I think of the time we saw this in the checkout lane at the grocery store:

Hope it never comes to this:
