Our 2016 4 cylinder Outback with CVT is plenty quick and fast enough to keep pace with 70-80 mph traffic.

I have a long reverse commute to work, with a 15-20 mile stretch that's pretty close to a free-for-all. The car is very capable once you get it to speed, it just takes time to get there.

New Subaru Ascent will have a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
Will be interesting to see if other models get that same engine.

I understand that the flat-six in the Legacy and Outback is a very good engine, but this turbo-4 would be a better choice next time the price of gas goes up.
