My family probably thinks that I already have one, since I keep my Tracfone turned off in my purse, just in case I need it.

My Mom does the same thing, which is fine with me because I'm about the same, although mine is on but calls in or out are extremely rare. She only turns hers on when I take her shopping somewhere. She goes shopping, I go for coffee or sit in the car and read or listen to the radio, and when she's done, she calls me to pick her up. She turns the Tracfone off and drops it back in her purse.
