Who considers themselves self sufficient

No way am I self sufficient. Having said that, I could go a month without leaving the apartment and have enough food/water for that period of time - or longer. During hurricane season, we fill some 18 gallon tubs with water for flushing our 1 gpf toilet. Stores EMPTY the shelves before every storm or after a tsunami warning. We have (supposedly) 7 days of food on the islands. I think I can defend my apartment. Other than that, YMMV.

It is enlightening to get an idea of what other folks think of being self sufficient. From picking grapes to harvesting mica to make computer chips... LOL
I came home today after a 12 hour shift to the DW working on sorting and cutting up stuff from the garden... grab a beer, and start getting directed... y'all married guys get it... In an hour we are putting up her next recipes to can.. Salsa and Verdie.. The greatest value from this is spending time with the DW doing something we both enjoy doing together.
and yes... can buy it cheaper... WAY CHEAPER
but ours taste better
