Is there a pre and post retirement check list?

Good evening!

Has anyone put together a check list for those that are just about to pull the trigger?

For example, if retiring after 1st quarter, I think it would be wise to remember to maximize the non deductible 401(k) Roth.

For pre-retirement, I’m assuming that insurance in the first retirement year is likely Cobra, but year 2 would be different.

Changes to Cell phone plans, internet, tv services, etc?

There must be 30 or 40 things I need to work on.

I will be recovering from a surgery for about 30 days, so a daily activity to complete a checklist would be nice.

In regards to finances, is it fair to say that spending non qualified cash positions in year 1 adds a bit of sanity, rather than worrying about where to efficiently withdraw funds?

Thanks in advance.

This is an old thread, but it has lots of "checklist" tips.

Edited to add: Some of the health care/health insurance suggestions may be out of date (the thread was pre-ACA) but a lot of the advice in the thread is timeless.
