Edit: Hmm, I apparently know how to create a poll! Help?

Curious to know what percentage of their stock & stock fund portfolios folks are allocating to international. For those invested in "global" funds please indicate the fund's allocation.

so OP, while you are figuring this out my allocation is 55/15/30 - 15 is intl

Went to zero intl about 4 years ago. Still there.

12% international now. I have kept it at 10% plus or minus a few for years.

International defined as non-US? Roughly 55% of equities. Bonds and cash are 100% euro, where I live.

Our equity allocation is 45%. It is split 20% int'l, 25% EM, and 55% US.

I'm Canadian, we talk about Canadian/US/International as the 3 buckets generally.

I have 22% international and 18% US (planned allocation is 20/20).

I'm invested 0% in Poles. Also, 0% in poles. And 0% in polls.

I'm also 0% non-US invested, and have been so for at least 30 years.

I have 10% invested in emerging int'l markets and another 20% in developed int'l markets. As big hitter said, at least so far, this year has been very good for int'l.

13% developed international, 1% emerging market out of 50% devoted to equities.

Just over 5% in non-US individual stock (out of 40% currently in equities).

intl is killing it now

More like intl is getting killed.

YTD SPY +4% EFA -7%
2 yr SPY +10.5% EFA -11.5
5 yr SPY +85% EFA +14%

More like intl is getting killed.

:confused::confused:
Intrnl Smlcap fund +11.5% YTD
Latin America fund +33% YTD
China Fund + 7% YTD
Asia Fund +11% YTD
Europe Fund -3% YTD
Fid New Markets +16.5% YTD
Vanguard Intl Value +4.5% YTD

The Europe has underperformed US for sure, and Vanguard Value slightly, but the rest have killed it. The Intl has outperformed US stock allocation for me this year, after quite a few years of underperformance. Still down on Latin America over 4 years. I rebalance into sectors that have underperformed, since I guess your point was about longer-term underperformance.

We're about 30% International:
25% Vanguard Total International Stock Market Index (VTIAX). Up 7.2% this year.
4% Vanguard Total International Bond Index (VTABX)) up 7% this year.

(Corrected)

VTIAX is Vanguard Total International Stock Market Index, not Vanguard Total Stock Market Index

1/3 of our equities are ex-US. That equates to about 20% of our total portfolio.

5% of total portfolio is ex US. Equities represent 60% of my portfolio. So many US companies are global players these days I don't see a real reason to increase beyond that at this point. Maybe if Europe gets their act together at some point I will.

Geez, even I know how to create a Pole.
Here's how:
First, you get a Polish woman, then you get a Polish man, then the Polish man sticks his...anyhow, that's how you create a Pole.

My equity division is about 38% US and 62% ex-US.

All my bonds are in US dollars.
