The three years since I FIRED have passed amazingly happily and quickly. Here's a toast to the class of 2012! August will always be special to me...

Things seem nicely on track: we're both healthy, active, and enjoying ourselves. Finances - WR currently at 2.97%, so I feel well-placed to ride out a market pullback.

Once again my thanks to this community - nothing like being able to read and share others' experiences, doubts, fears, joys and strategies to help get through moments of uncertainty.

As of last July 1 it has been 13 years for me, although I did "fall off the wagon" for a few years. But it was optional, not necessary and that made a huge difference since I had long since earned my KMA* hat. Many of the others I worked with had theirs too and the boss knew it so it was a fairly laid back environment.
