Years ago, my Grandmother made a white or blond fruitcake. Very delicious. It had a light taste and was loaded with candied fruit of many colors, making the slices look somewhat like a stained glass window.

We have not been able to find the recipe. Suspect it is gone.

I have agreed with my siblings to test some recipes before next December.

Have any of you had such a fruitcake? Can you suggest a good recipe?

Thanks in advance!

There are many fruitcake recipes on the net. Simply google and find a couple that are close to what you think, and then experiment. Most all provide pictures so you can tell if it is coming close to what you remember.

OK, just so everyone knows I was dead serious when I made this post. I did not realize that it had a humorous interpretation.

Leave it to the minds on this forum to create a smile on me. Thank you in advance for this.

My brother and I were talking about this fruitcake recipe last weekend. As you can imagine, fruitcakes get a bad rap and we remember this one as being unusually nice.

Now when I meet people I'm afraid I may chuckle to myself when I meet a person with flaxen hair that is less than average IQ.

Thanks for this. I did see lots of pictures so I was hoping someone here had experience that would narrow my search.

I'm trying to eat low carb so making 1 cake per week might be enjoyable but I would have to dig out my old pants :)

Personally, I prefer the darker fruitcakes, crammed chock-full of nuts and candied fruit. I know what you mean about the stained-glass effect of a slice.

I googled blonde fruitcake recipes and here are a couple that might serve as a starting-point:

I imagine you could substitute preferred candied fruits while keeping the portion amounts the same as specified in the recipe.

Thank you. From what I recall it looked closer to the King Arthur appearance except with double or triple the fruit. That's another one I will try.
