We'll see if the IRS has a sense if humor.
Retired Spy.
Actual entry this year, have wanted to do this since 2006 ( the spy year), but did not dare when working.

Well gosh, I'm retired. I put retired. It had never occurred to me to put anything else. I supposed I could put "Dead Parrot", as my working life has ceased to be, but they'd probably not appreciate that.

When I retired, I upgraded my "Engineer" to "Retired Engineer". Sadly, I wasn't paid for the upgrade ................

"Doctors" are Doctors for life. I plan to continue as an "Engineer" for the rest of mine, so I'm with ya on that!

Any free form text fields on forms are pretty much garage fields.

I have never figured out what this field is used for anyway. I heard of one person who worked as a bug exterminator who would put down "hired killer".

OK, I had to go search for odd job titles. I won't waste the space here, but if interested, check out these options for your tax return:

Just use unemployed. Say the same whenever anyone asks you why you aren’t working at your age. They will stop asking those pesky questions. Added bonus, they won’t ask you for $$$$.
