Where have you lived?

How long do you have to be somewhere to have 'lived' there? Or just not in a hotel or leaving out of a suitcase.

I would say about month but no rules. If you Unpacked and did laundry I'd say your living there.

I was curious about Bunkie, La. so I checked it out on Wikipedia. I imagine many other members of the ER are others curious about Bunkie, La...

"Bunkie had its start when the Texas and Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. It was named for the original landowner's daughter, who had the nickname Bunkie.[3] The town post office contains a mural, Cotton Pickers, painted in 1939 by Caroline Speare Rohland... Since 1987, Bunkie has hosted the annual Louisiana Corn Festival during the second full weekend of June."

"... the city has a total area of 2.69 square miles..."

Taking a wild guess that you met Hyman Rickover or his immediate successor. :D

I interviewed with Admiral Rickover in the Spring of 1981, shortly before I graduated from USNA. I believe he interviewed one more class after mine. Notwithstanding the fact that he yelled at me for 10 minutes and then kicked me out of his office, he ultimately took me into the program. I went on to serve aboard USS George Washington and USS George Washington Carver. Interestingly, the current Head of Naval Reactors is my classmate from the academy, who interviewed with Rickover the same day as me.

I also deployed to spots all over the Pacific Rim (Japan, Philippines, Diego Garcia, Singapore, Panama, etc.) when I was in the Navy. In particular, I fondly recall spending time in Adelaide, Australia and Kuantan, Malaysia.
