URL Problem Possible Hack

It looks fine and as I always remember it...thats a different web site from this one...is that the confusion?

Someone must have fixed it cuz it was going to a german text error page. Oh well, all's fine now.

What browser are you using?

I just had a similar incident yesterday with Firecalc: it was showing up under a Fidelity URL! I couldn't reproduce the error and chalked it up to my first Firefox glitch. But to have someone else mention a similar problem a day later has me wanting to check into this more.

Anyone else have odd redirections or mismatched bookmarks or URLs?

I'm using Netscape on a Mac. I thought it might be my browser or my machine so I logged out, rebooted and then did a search for the sight insteaad of using my bookmark, did the same thing.

When I saw Ottahere's initial post earlier today, I tried the site and got the same German language error message. Tried it a couple of hours later and it was fine.

[edit: rats- they intercept. Oh well, click through and enjoy...]
That is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.  I was laughing out loud at the redneck version.  Thanks for posting.  It was a welcome relief after the Frontline program.

There is a problem on the main index. Dory's board is not listed. Help!!!

I noticed that too this morning but I also had the direct link to dory's site.

just curious Ginger, why would you need help, since you the found the forum to post your SOS(?) :)

I am at work and my link always first takes me to the main board. It is not there. Check it out. I had to go on the Internet and put in "Dory" and found a discussion that took me to the board and I then bookmarked. (Does that make sense.) Anyway, the main entrance to the board is not there.

Ginger, the Retire Early Home Page website is not Dory's entry portal to the discusssion board. It is a completely separate website which happens to have (or at least it once did) a link to this site.

Oh, I was wondering what that was about.

Apparently intercst recently removed the link to this forum from http://retireearlyhomepage.com/ . He has his own forum there. dory36, did you pee in intercst's Wheaties lately? :D (Or maybe I did. )

The front static page here is http://early-retirement.org/ and still has a link to the forums.

Two different people. Two different sites. A fair bit of crossover traffic, though.

"Intercst cuts dory36's hawsers!"

I'll bet he would like a little traffic! Why not "cross-license"?

Dory: Put a pointer to intercst's web site on your front page! I recommend his whitepapers often enough that someone might want to go there and read more.

I found this board through his site. Can't we repay the compliment?

Ed

We used to have a bunck of links to his site -- I don't recall dropping them, but must have done so -- probably overwrote a link instead of adding a new one by mistake.

I'll fix it.

Intercst is the godfather of all ERs, as far as I am concerned. I discovered the possibility of my own ER through his site.

[edit: I added the link back to the rotating headline at the top, and linked his site a couple of places and his ***** threads on the intro page.]

There is still a sticky topic in Other Topics about REHP, and posters periodically link to one of the articles there. I guess it's good to have the link on the front page, too.

Unless I had a cached view of the main url, dory's site was there until late Tuesday.
