I plan on retiring at 64 (Feb 2025) and my wife and I will get Healthcare through the ACA.

My questions relates to when I turn 65 (my wife is 10 years younger).

Through my research it appears that between my Medicare and supplemental plan costs and her still being on the Marketplace plan the total will go up dramatically.

We always file our taxes jointly. Would it help if we file separately? She has not worked in years.

I thought the Marketplace asked for adjusted gross for the household or am I wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is no help as you stated this is the way it works..FYI you probably want to delay taking Ss until you turn 70.
