Presently I have a what I would call a Cadillac Medicare supplement. No co-pay no deductible. But next year the bill will be close to 4K.
My question is has anyone dropped the supplement and went strictly to the VA for health care.
How did it go?

you can keep both and try them out to see if you want/need to drop one or the other.. the VA one is free and of course the other one is 4K...

also... you need to go by the VA and get your VA medical card... you can use it for military discounts too...

I do go to the VA now once a year for a physical, signed up a few years ago because I was afraid the eligibility would change. I have been happy with that care.
My sons both use the VA seem to be happy with the care.

I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now. I need someone to push me over the edge.

if the cost is the issue, consider switching to a high-deductible supplement.

if that is still too much, consider a zero-premium medicare advantage plan.
