Oil down 20% this weekend

So, I know this is a naive question, but why can't we just halt oil imports to prop up US oil suppliers?

Our country's oil businesses import crude from probably 20 different countries and have contracts in place to do so. Not so easy to just stop importing.

Well, at least oil is down only 18% now. It was down 30% when I woke up this morning.

I don't like hand sanitizers. I prefer not to rub flammable liquids on my skin or smell like alcohol.

A class project from Dec 2019 showed hand washing was still better than hand sanitizers (see the 1:09 mark):

Sure. Hand sanitizer is for when you don't have ready access to soap and water. When you do, soap and water is better. That's what floors me about people stockpiling hand sanitizer for home use. You don't need it at home where you have ready access to soap and water. You need it to refill small bottles you can keep in your pocket, your purse or your car, in places where you do not have ready access to wash your hands.
