Traveling to Seattle area in May

Want to visit some time but also want to get out to the Palouse. Too much of a long drive from Seattle during a short stay?

Few months ago, returning from Europe (may have been through Vancouver) flight path went right over the Space Needle, Safeco and Century Link. Those were the landmarks I recognized.

Wasn't sunny but got some good pics.

We enjoyed visiting visiting Chateau Ste. Michelle just north of Seattle. It's a real chateau! WA largest winemaker - or at least top two and very good. Other famous wineries in this Woodinville area.

Then you can take the ferry to Olympic Peninsula from Edmonds or head north to the San Juans.

It's over 300 miles one way to the area you would want to visit: nearest city is Clarkston WA. So if you have 3 days to spare, then, it's doable. But it is a full-day's drive from Seattle.
