They’re showing this new bio on PBS (around here, anyway) on Mon/Tue, 9/27-28.

I bet there are members who have toured the Hearst Castle. Even if not, the show sounds promising.

I enjoyed Part 1 of the show. It was clear how little I knew of Hearst’s background and early life. I’m looking forward to the conclusion as it seems that’s when the party really got going. This guy was the ultimate BTD type!

Another rich kid who got to do what they wanted funded by daddy's money.

I’ve toured the Hearst Castle. It was certainly impressive.

I worked at a newspaper that once belonged to the Hearst chain. One of the local TV stations is still under their ownership.

DW and I did an overnight in Cambria, the nearby beach town, before visiting the Hearst Castle many years ago. We watched Citizen Kane the night before (the motel thoughtfully provided copies for the guests - on VHS, to show how long ago this was). Kane's Xanadu had nothing on Hearst's San Simeon.

I have toured the Hearst Castle. Amazing stories of how he came to acquire most things.
