Not for ER, but a general question.

What is my username? as:

My name is John Smith...

I go by the name of polliwog

My EMail address is,, polliwog@gmail.com
..............................................................

So, what is my username?
1. polliwog
2. polliwog@gmail.com]

Now... here's the reason for the question:
1. I want to sign on to the app NewNews
2. To sign up I have to give my username.
3. The sign up page asks fo my username, then password.
4. Since they are going to send me a verification, I must assume my username is my gmail address, but when I put that in, it asks for my password in order to send me a verification.
5. Am I expected to use my gmail password of X@pwi55?, or to invent a new password?

I just signed up to see how it would go. Flipboard presented me with a signup page that asked for:

1. My name,
2. My email address,
3. A password.

#3 is a password you want to use just for Flipboard. This should not be a password you use elsewhere.

I clicked the submit button, and I got an email asking to confirm my email address. They made is simple by supplying a 'Confirm Email" button in the email, so I clicked that and Ta-Da!, Flipboard on the browser went on into its personalization thing.

Okay... so to sign up...

What is my username?

I ended up with no emails to me for verification... and after trying again, three times, ended up with security questions for Microsoft, Google,
passwords and pin numbers.

Finally... after deleting all saved info, was able to sign in.

Not the first time, and I think, different websites see username as either the name (polliwog) or the email address.

Time to go back to listening to the radio.
