Yubikey protection

As part of my computer security I use a Yubikey for some sites.

The Yubikey comes with a little hole in it for attachment to a keychain. But, it seems to me that attaching the Yubikeyto a keychain full of keys would eventually cause damage to the Yubikey. All that metal rubbing against it in my pocket has to cause physical wear on the key.

How do you Yubikey users protect the Yubikey from damage when they attach it to a keychain?

I bought two Yubikeys in September of 2017. After registering both keys at the websites that support them, I put one on my key ring that is full of keys and the other locked up in my file cabinet. I carry my key ring every single day in my pocket with no protection on the Yubikey, and I've had no issues with it since I bought it.
