AAPL just hit a ten bagger for me. Bought in March, 2010. Wish every stock I bought went up 10 times in ten years.

What 10 bagger+ investments have you had?

Well AAPL is nearing a 17-bagger for me, great stock. Bought Sept, 2008.

Had a 10-bagger with Analog Devices (ADI) from 1998 or so till just before the tech meltdown. That was a big position also.

Qualcomm (went up 36X in 1999 before I sold a single share)
Tesla (only a 5 bagger but it took less than 13 months)
TSLA call options (over 100X in a few months)
MSFT (I don't know the exact X#'s but around 20X up to 1998 where I sold it all and a 3X-4X when I bought it a few years back at $34)
SBUX (about 10X)

A few I can't remember but those were smaller positions. I tend to put around 25% in the positions I think have the best chances for 10X with the lowest risk (currently TSLA), I have almost half my portfolio in it. The portfolio volatility doesn't bother me because I have a bigger retirement fund than I'll probably ever spend.

I have a little bit of SQ that I bought around $7-$8 when it dropped a few months after it IPO'd. I got a few more shares later on, but most were from that initial buy. It's now $91.

I have a bunch of SIRI I got for $1, now about $6
And I have FB from IPO day at $42, now $236

But these are all just play money positions.

Never had a 10-bagger.

I had a 4-bagger once that become a 0.5-bagger by the time I sold it.

NVDA is like a 37x for me. I paid $10 for it in like 2009 or 2010, I think.

My megacorp was a 10 bagger, and I was fortunate to have RSUs and SARs, which I held onto for a very long time. This has helped me become very comfortable with our financials.

Right now Apple is a 5x for me.

Megacorp's had a zero cost basis and funds half my retirement.

I know what you mean. I traded AAPL, buying at 11 selling at 15 etc before finally deciding it was investible at 20.

Of course, I first considered investing in it at 2. It rose to 3 and I figured it had gotten away from me.

Owned JDSU during the tech bubble and sold out at a 20 bagger. Unfortunately gave some of it back trying to buy on the way down as the bubble was deflating. Gave about 1/3 of the profits back.

EMC in the 90s. Sold at a bit over 50 fold; should have done better still, but was greedy....

I was lucky.

Same here but my mega was owned by 2 successive private equity firms. Options turned into stock after first cycle and sold out at end of second cycle for 10 bagger. There were some serious dividend payouts along the way also. Right place at the right time I guess.

AAPL way more than a 10 bagger for DH as he bought shares in late 1990s when Jobs returned. And more when it was occasionally cut in half. But now he’s down to only 200 shares left!

We fortunately retired on >10 bagger company stock options. Very, very lucky.

Microsoft, Walmart, Oracle - all bought in the mid-1990's at the start of the dot-com boom, and which I have never sold or sold less than 10% of the original shares.

Only in my dreams. Bad luck with individual stocks. I have lost 99% of my investment in one stock. It was the stock I had the largest investment in. I no longer invest in individual stocks.

FWIW I'd certainly suggest reading "Ten Baggers: stocks that returned 10X" by Cris Mayer.
IMO: It's an outstanding, contemporaneous literary template of numerous 10bagger's recorded in the last 50yrs.
Every time I look through it I discover something*new to consider. ;)

Good luck & Best wishes!

After reading this I decided to check. Apple is up 12x for me. I am down to only one other individual stock, but I don't recall any other "10+ Baggers" for me.

Apple - going forward

Needless to say I'm late. Have made small AAPL buys recently...avg price around $310.00

Many on this thread have held AAPL a long time.

Do you still feel it is a growth stock going forward?

Also I know we are anti-crystal-ball here - but if you have an investment surely you have some sort of expectation.

Do you feel AAPL is headed for future growth, and what kind of share appreciation/depreciation do you forsee for 5-10 years? Thanks

It’s been more than 15 years since I held individual stocks, but I had a ten bagger or thereabouts on MSFT, INTC & CSCO back in the late 80’s and 90’s - but it’s been that long for me.

Lowe’s. Bought in late 90s, sold 20 years later for 11x. Plus divs the whole time. Who needs tech?

When sold was my last individual stock.

I bought 40,000 shares of Endocyte for $1 and change and it got bought out for $23 a year later. My only 20 bagger (I didn't hold all 40,000 for the full $23 though).
