This is either a no brainer or a very personnal descison, but I thought I'd poll your opinion.

I have about 25k in an old annuity that has produced 6.7% annual interest over the last 10 years. I'm thinking of rolling this over into an IRA. I'll have to do this in ten equal payments over ten years. FYI I'm 45 and about 4 years away form ER. If I was to leave it alone and start taking income at 59 1/2 I can get $500 per month for life or $11k for ten years.

Is this worth the effort or should I just use this annuity as a part of my fixed income?

Which company is it woth? What is the current crediting rate?

I'd just count it as part of your FI allocation, then.

That's what I was leaning towards.

nun: there's a discussion (5/24) on TIAA Traditional on the M* TIAA-CREF board that you might find interesting
