I haven't posted in a while because I've been working on a revamped web site that was dormant for awhile. It is one of those things I was going to do when I retired. Kept putting it off, but finally got around to it.

What's it have to do with retirement? I guess it has more to do with me. It is a free community site in the wine country where I own a ranch. It has some articles, some of which express my thoughts on the place and the life style that small country towns like this one make possible.

Looks like a very nice site, boont. I had the pleasure of visiting the valley in the late 90s and thought it was beautiful. Love the beers from Anderson Valley Brewing Co. (Hop Ottin' IPA is fantastic) and Roederer Estate produces the finest bubbly in California IMO. You guys also have the best CA gewurztraminer.... Navarro.

I agree about the beer and the wine. One favorite spot of mine to visit is Lazy Creek Vineyards. It's like going to a farm rather than a tasting room. You sit out under a big Oak Tree to taste. There is a picture of it in my blog, on the site somewhere.

My place is just to the left of the mountain you see on the Boonville Beer label. Once in a while I have some fun pointing that out to people.

Well, no one has any comment on my community website but thanks to those who looked.

Looking forward to building one for my generation. It will be called Boomerforum. Not there yet, but I keep trying to get it done.

I am from the east coast and the area sounds intriguiing, however, I do have a few comments about the web site:

1. Maybe, move the welcome message a bit closer to the top of the website (intro area)
2. Statistical info about the area
3. Geographical location -- other than Napa Valley -- (ie. 50 miles east of San Fran)

Thank you for the imput. I will move the welcome. That is a good example of something I was not seeing.

Information about the area is also good. Needs perspective.

I do have to be more clear about location, because it is nowhere near the Napa Valley. It is in the other wine country of Mendocino County. 100 miles north of San Francisco.

Also, I need to mention that the town of Boonville is unique in that it has its own language or lingo of Boontling. Long story how this happened but some words are...

Brightlighter...city folk

Bucky Walter...a telephone

Horn of Zee...cup of coffee

Burlappin'...making love
