Today, I can't get the thought of a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza out of my head. I want one and I want to eat it all, all by myself. I am home alone so I can. But I am trying to lose my retirement weight so I shouldn't.

How do you deal with cravings? I'll tell ya man, I can smell it, taste it, and savor it.

Now you have ME wanting that pizza too! I hope sharing the craving helps decrease it :)

Is there somewhere you can just get a slice?

Witholding will just make you binge later - eat the slice real slow and savor it - you'll be full by the end!

or eat with a pound of grapes like freebird says and you'll be really full! haha

hmmm...the substitution method failed....then let's try the distraction method...

<ding dong> OMG, a younger Tom Selleck is at the door in a thong. :D

One of the reasons you ERd was because life it too short.
If you found yourself in a car crash today, hanging upside down from your seat belt with your life draining away would you think: "I'm glad I didn't have that pizza."

Everything in moderation - Ben Franklin - (I think)

Funny Dex!

Not so funny picturing Tom Selleck in a thong. Men in thongs. Not. That almost takes away my appetite. :)

Give in, give in. On the way home from a healthy walk I stopped at the hand-packed ice cream shop after a soup and salad lunch. Between post 2 and 3 I starting savoring vanilla custard. Mmmm. Put me on Ignore before it's too late.

NOW you've done it! you made me think about that luscious homemade vanille cream i have in the freezer. and the bananas just might be ripe enough.

<chanting> picture TS in a thong! picture TS in a thong!!! :D

Yesterday I read a story on CNN about a horrible animal cruelty case at a pig farm in Iowa. That would stop your cravings. Could you get the pizza with just pineapple?

Or you could balance inputs with outputs by swimming 17 races...

Michael Phelps dove into the pool 17 times over the nine days of competition at the
Beijing Olympics and walked away with a record-breaking 8 gold medals!

During the Olympics the world got to know a lot about Phelps,
including the way he has given new meaning to the term “breakfast of champions”.

Every time the 23 year old sits down to eat he consumes a
mind-boggling 4000 calories! That’s 12000 calories a day!

For breakfast alone this champion devours:

* 3 fried egg sandwiches (with loads of cheese, onions and mayo)
* 2 cups of coffee
* a 5-egg omelet (with more cheese)
* 1 bowl of grits
* 3 slices of French Toast topped with powdered sugar
* and 3 chocolate chip pancakes!

I’D JUMP IN THE POOL 17 TIMES A DAY IF IT MEANT I COULD EAT HALF OF THAT!

Wait a minute ,I do two hours in the pool doing water aerobics and all I eat for breakfast is one egg .

Mmmm MMMM that was a good BLT, thanks for the good idea Mo!

Whole grain bread, good bacon, slices of a nice orange heirloom tomato and a bunch of arugula. Yum.

Oh, and check this out...

Go on Martha, you'll enjoy the pizza more than you'll regret a few hundred calories... >:D>:D>:D

Thanks Meadh for the song:

Craving
Ah ha
Constant craving
Has always been

Constant craving
Has always been
Constant craving
Has always been

I resisted.

Had tuna and asparagus.

Drink water until you're full.

No, it doesn't work for me either. So I only allow myself pizza on Saturdays...

When I have cravings, I generally cave in and eat whatever I'm craving. But that's ok - I craved a cheeseburger, fries, and beer one week into my last Nutrisystem diet. I had headaches from the diet, so I broke down and had the burger / fries / beer. That was enough to push me through the next few months of dieting and lose 20 lbs. So I see giving into cravings as an essential part of dieting.

I am very fortunate. I don't get food cravings. I am glad, because I would likely give in.

Ha
