OK, I'll admit it. I watch Idol. Yea, I know, it's pretty lame, but I do enjoy it. Anyone else watching this year? I must say I really like Adam Lambert so far. Cute, great voice, and a great performer. Hey, beats watching CNN just for a brief escape from reality.

Oh gosh, yes. American Idol is my most secret "guilty pleasure". Well, not so secret any longer, I suppose.

I love listening to the music. I don't really have a favorite yet in this year's contest, though.

I've watched every season of American Idol. But I have to admit, I only watch the shows in the beginning. When they're at the point of having to get votes to stay in the competition, I lose interest.

Here I am checking in during the commercials;) bbbami, it's funny you said this because I'm just the opposite. The begining is kinda boring for me and like it more when I get to know the performers later on in the competition. Anyway, check out Adam. He might keep you interested:smitten:

Thanks W2R, hearing this from you makes me feel like I'm not such a nerd afterall:D

Adam is pretty interesting, I'll agree! :2funny:

I prefer the shows after the top 12 are selected, myself. In fact, I wish they would do twice as many shows with the top 12. Each year, the top 12 are all terrific and I love listening to them.

We're not nerds - - we're just listening to a teeny-bopper show!! I suppose. At least, that's what SOME people think. But then, what do they know. :)

Never watched it. The Golf Channel runs 24/7.

DH watches Idol with me only because I bribe him with cold beverages and snacks:D. I suspect he'd really rather be watching the History Channel most nights. But I even he would admit he's enjoyed some of the performances;).

I got turned onto American Idol by my 93 year old Mom. So ,yes I'm watching it but I really prefer So you think you can dance .

I am the same way. I generally hate the auditions, after so many seasons there aren't any entertaining horrible singers left. Just people who are desperate for attention, deluded people, and stupid people, and I just don't find them pathetic. (Although, I admit I've smiled a few times watch Nick/Norman's antics.)

Once the competition gets down to 8 or so (gets rid of the folks marginal folks) I get interested. No big favorites so far this season. I was a bit upset they got rid of the very pretty girl with the ugly tat.

My favorite singer is Danny, he reminds me of Elvis Costello.

Tonight Lil Rounds knocked it out of the ballpark. Dang, she is one fine singer!

I appreciate the show.

It's something a Dad can watch with 14 y/o daughter that's not full of sexual innuendo and other trash (for the most part) and that we can both enjoy, discuss, & laugh at, argue about with each other. That's hard to find on TV anymore.

We used to watch Who Wants To Be a Millionaire regularly.

Both shows kind of remind me of how TV used to be.

I agree, it is one of the few shows that the whole family can get into.

I'm not sure why so many people think of it as so "beneath them" or whatever. I wonder if those are the people who just watch the first shows with the staged bad singers (I hate those). I'm really not into pop culture at all, but I like this show pretty much.

I like to see the progress of some singers, and also see them tackle different styles. Schedule has been such I haven't seen much this season. Saw tonight, it was OK. Every once in a while there is a real goose-bump performance though.

Actually, Danny is from my neck of the woods. He hits me as Morton Downey Jr. with a Bryan Adams voice.........:D

I've been hooked since Clay and Reubin were the two finalists, Last year i lost $20 to my wife when they picked David Cooke and not David Archuletta. Bit early to pick a winner this year but the 16yr old girl with red hair can really belt out a song.

I've watched since episode one of season one. I don't usually like to route for the favorite but Adam is the only person who's stood out for me so far and he's also a fellow Wisconsinite so I have to route for him for now.

I meant Danny not Adam. Danny is my early favorite.

Yeah, well........Bucky was from MY hometown!!!! Anybody remember Bucky:confused: lol:rolleyes:

Might want to go to youtube and search his name, there are some, ahem,
other interesting videos of him.

He looks to be the most interesting, but if he goes too wild as he has
mention in interviews, might lose some popularity. He version of
Satisfaction was excellent.

Adam seems to already have "THE haircut" for him, "THE clothes", and so on, to make him come across well on the stage and project an image. American Idol seems to have teams that work with the top 12 to get their hair and clothes right, and I suspect they even work with them on song choice to some extent, but I don't think they'll need to do much with him at all. The others may start seeming better and better, and he might continue to look and sound pretty much the same.

I'll have to check out those youtube videos you mention, later on! :D
