and then the genie asks questions and eventually guesses who you chose.

I chose Emile Zola and it took the genie 29 questions but it nailed it.

Fun, thanks! I tried Ben Bernanke and it got it on the first guess in 16 questions. The game is worth a bookmark :).

Pretty good. It guessed mine (Percy Bysshe Shelley) with about 20 questions, and after mis-guessing John Keats.

That's amazing. I tried four characters (Jackie Kennedy, Stephen Harper, Frederic Chopin and the Dalai Lama) and it got it right every time. I didn't count the number of questions but certainly fewer than 15 per character.

Wow! It determined that I was thinking of Steven Tyler in only 15 questions.

It took 34 questions for it to figure out Nicola Tesla, though, with two mistaken identities.

53 questions, and the genie still couldn't come up with Jean Shepherd. Two things: The genie asked twice if my character is dead (he is) and then asked "Is your character still working?" Also, the genie NEVER asked "Is your character associated with radio?" Seems such an obvious question....

Bill Monroe ('Invented' Bluegrass-) 19 guesses
Philo T Farnsworth (Invented TV) - 25 guesses after a wrong guess on Edison.

It was kinda weird - it asked the same questions over again (or is it 'testing' you?). And it asked if the person was alive in the 19th century, Edison was, but Farnsworth wasn't (had to look it up), so did it figure my answer wasn't correct, and goes for the 'best fit'?

Also weird that it doesn't tell you how many it took, I had to hit the back arrow.

Alfred Nobel in 24 questions. It went quick once the genie figured the character was Swedish.

I tried Jerry Stiller and it couldn't get it but I think I answered a couple of questions wrong.

John Lennon in the first guess in 10 questions. Played it on the iTouch (apparently three free games per day). This could be addictive

28 questions to get Laird Hamilton (best big wave surfer ever). It gave up after 61 on Olin Stephens, best known for designing 6 of the 7 boats that won the America's cup between 1958 and 1980. Didn't expect the game to know about him.

Couldn't find Glenn Beckert 2nd baseman of the Chicago Cubs. Looks like it can't find the lesser known players from the 69-75 Cubs players outside of the hall of famers.

Watson it ain't and not very impressive
29 guess to come up with Hank Schroeder from Breaking Bad after first guessing a female detective, I told the program was male.

Completely lost about an obscure part played by Anne Hathaway for two season show on Fox "Get Real" (Anne's first big part.)

A respectable 14 questions for AttaTurk

Completely lost on Andy Grove.. (I think formerTime Man of the Year shouldn't be hard)

Watson missed some pretty easy questions also as I recall.

I think the 3 young French (programers) who wrote this Akinator are also attempting to collect (i.e. learn/build data base) by releasing their first version and asking you to give the correct answers at the end.

It's a simple game not a $200 million IBM project.

27 questions for Buckaroo Banzai, after guessing Bret Maverick. Not bad.

Only 16 guesses to come up with Buffy.

39 questions and 2 wrong guesses, but it got Brian Eno. Eno was a member of Roxy Music back in the 70s and went on to a solo career as a producer and musician.

20 questions to come with Henry V. Pretty cool program.

It failed to guess Ann Haydon-Jones who I remember well from the 60's and have seen several times this week at Wimbledon. It guessed Sue Barker, Virginia Wade, and Martina Navratilova (who is not even English).

It then invited me to add her and asked a couple of questions. I tried again and it got her on the 2nd guess, after Virginia Wade.

Ann Haydon-Jones (born Adrianne Shirley Haydon on 7 October 1938 in Birmingham, United Kingdom,[1] is a former table tennis and lawn tennis champion. She won a total of eight Grand Slam championships during her career: three in singles, three in women's doubles, and two in mixed doubles.[

I stumped it with Ken Cuccinelli, Attorney General of Virginia.

Joan Baez: After 30 questions and 2 wrong guesses. Partly my fault because I don't know the answers to some questions.
