I chose Emile Zola and it took the genie 29 questions but it nailed it.

Fun, thanks! I tried Ben Bernanke and it got it on the first guess in 16 questions. The game is worth a bookmark .

Pretty good. It guessed mine (Percy Bysshe Shelley) with about 20 questions, and after mis-guessing John Keats.

That's amazing. I tried four characters (Jackie Kennedy, Stephen Harper, Frederic Chopin and the Dalai Lama) and it got it right every time. I didn't count the number of questions but certainly fewer than 15 per character.

Wow! It determined that I was thinking of Steven Tyler in only 15 questions.

It took 34 questions for it to figure out Nicola Tesla, though, with two mistaken identities.

53 questions, and the genie still couldn't come up with Jean Shepherd. Two things: The genie asked twice if my character is dead (he is) and then asked "Is your character still working?" Also, the genie NEVER asked "Is your character associated with radio?" Seems such an obvious question....

Philo T Farnsworth (Invented TV) - 25 guesses after a wrong guess on Edison.

It was kinda weird - it asked the same questions over again (or is it 'testing' you?). And it asked if the person was alive in the 19th century, Edison was, but Farnsworth wasn't (had to look it up), so did it figure my answer wasn't correct, and goes for the 'best fit'?

Also weird that it doesn't tell you how many it took, I had to hit the back arrow.

28 questions to get Laird Hamilton (best big wave surfer ever). It gave up after 61 on Olin Stephens, best known for designing 6 of the 7 boats that won the America's cup between 1958 and 1980. Didn't expect the game to know about him.

29 guess to come up with Hank Schroeder from Breaking Bad after first guessing a female detective, I told the program was male.

Completely lost about an obscure part played by Anne Hathaway for two season show on Fox "Get Real" (Anne's first big part.)

Watson missed some pretty easy questions also as I recall.

I think the 3 young French (programers) who wrote this Akinator are also attempting to collect (i.e. learn/build data base) by releasing their first version and asking you to give the correct answers at the end.

It's a simple game not a $200 million IBM project.

It failed to guess Ann Haydon-Jones who I remember well from the 60's and have seen several times this week at Wimbledon. It guessed Sue Barker, Virginia Wade, and Martina Navratilova (who is not even English).

It then invited me to add her and asked a couple of questions. I tried again and it got her on the 2nd guess, after Virginia Wade.
