I love gambling and bet sports every day, I've tried "systems" on almost every game the casino has but right now I play poker and bet on sports only, they are 2 games I can pretty consistently beat. I'll throw maybe $20 or $40 in the slot machine but that's about it. I tried counting cards on 21 and read a book on a roulette system that I played with but nothing is as good as poker for me, I watch my mom and wife throw hundreds at the machines with little returns. do you gamble and what do you play?

Three or four times a year, I'll play the slots at our local casino. I walked away $12.00 ahead yesterday after about 45 minutes of play. Mom lost $47. I won't lose more than $50 on any giving outing. Once I'm out that much, I go home.

I gamble in the markets (swing trading), casinos (Craps, blackjack, roulette) and sports betting (football and NASCAR). Annual risk capital is well into the 7 digit range each in the Markets and Casinos but far, far less on sports betting.

I haven't found any system that wins consistently "in anything" but have discovered many systems that will almost guarantee losses in everything. Don't ask how I know.

I gamble in casinos for the fun and travel, not for any gains. (Although the occasional big wins are really nice)

Not really. Years ago we used to go to the quarter slot machines in local casinos maybe 3-4 times a year, each of us spending no more than $20.

But after Katrina hit, the odds were tightened up and we stopped going because you just couldn't win. I would imagine the odds are looser again by now in the casinos that remain, but now we are retired. So, we never got back in the habit of going like we used to do.

The only gambling I do is the occasional sporting event friendly bet with a friend, or maybe a bet for a beer or lunch based on who scores lower during a round of golf.

I love to play poker, I'm due for another trip to Reno soon. Tournaments and cash, love it all. Sit and play for hours until I get hungry or sleepy.

I love poker, but don't play much anymore. Made a few hundred online. Bet football with some regularity, but small potatoes. I participate in a weekly ATS football pick pool which costs $125 each year, but I've won more than $700 in two years. I guess that counts too!

If I am somewhere there is a crap table, I will play. It is one of the few places you can get true odds.

Where do you play, I mighta played with you before. my favorite rooms were cal neva, eldorado, circus and Atlantis, they're all gone except for Atlantis. Silver legacy has a new room but I've been playing $2-6 spread at boomtown, I'm going next week

I played a lot of blackjack, because the odds favor the disciplined player in something like 3 hands out of 1000. It just gets a little tiring after a while.

Played poker in Vegas, but the only winner seemed to be the dealer.

Circus-circus was my place until I discovered the Peppermill.

Makes the circus look like a joke. Way better eats and drinks. Spa so you can get rubbed the right way.

The only problem is, to get the true odds, you have to do it on top of a bet that is in the house's favor. But I like craps too. Very exciting game, and overall the odds are about as good as you can get in a casino.

There is a reason those casinos have luxury exteriors and interiors. It is not because they give out more money than they take in. I am more into the people watching than gambling myself.

I will play slots or blackjack, lottery when it gets up higher, but consider it entertainment expense. On the slots or blackjack I am pretty good at walking away if I get up $10-20 over my initial $20. Cash out and put the money in my pocket.

FIL was a gambler... As were 2 of DH's uncles. The casino used to send a limo to pick up one of DH's uncles on payday. He thought he was hot stuff because of that. Fortunately, he held back just enough of his paycheck before getting in the car... because he lost the rest that night. FIL had to hand over his paycheck to MIL after he gambled and lost their mortgage payment one night. He'd do side work for extra money to feed the addiction of gambling... DH remembers being on odd jobs with his dad and having bookies trying to trick him into giving the bookie his dad's real name... Said it was pretty scary.

I play the lottery 2-3 times a year. I don't go out of my way to go to casinos. If I am at a casino - I set a fixed amount for "entertainment" - and when that is gone - I'm done.

I play the market, thats enough of a gamble for me.

My thoughts exactly. On any given day I can easily be up or down 6 figures. To get the same kind of "excitement" gambling I would soon be penniless I think.

Life itself is enough of a gamble in my view.
