We won't live forever so every now and then I have an envie for something unhealthy and tasty.
I'll start it off: cracklin (not the mass produced kind but the local variety of pork skins with fat and meat fried up crispy).

Put some hot sauce on those pork skins and I'll join you.

My first thought was Snickers.

Healthy? Such a loaded term these days with the debates on what constitutes healthy food (e.g. some people think pasta is healthy, other thinks is bad for you).

So rather than mention a specific food as unhealthy, I'd say amounts can be unhealthy.

When I was a kid we loved to have eating contests - we considered it cool to eat huge amounts of foods. We'd often try to eat super large servings of ice cream to get our name added to a wall at ice cream joints. We ate way too much, but it sure was tasty!

!

Agree. Actually my downfall is indeed Pasta. I love it so much that I always eat way too much of it at a time. I feel so uncomfortably full afterwards and my weight will jump a pound or two. So I try to keep it to once or twice a month.

My favorite meal

Cheeseburgers. Grind the meat from scratch, mold it thick with fresh basil. Grill it over smoke, on the rare side of medium. Melt on some extra sharp cheddar just before removing it from the heat. Slather with every possible condiment so it can't be eaten without making a mess. Wash it down with a cold brown lager.

Repent at leisure.

Wow, haven't had Cracklin since Jesus was a boy.

Well since I'm currently a Philly gal, gotta go with a cheesesteak. I go for the pizza cheesesteak with mozzarella, hot peppers, onions and marinara sauce.

I'll be the first to chime and say this is not an unhealthy meal. Don't eat it every day, but don't lump in with the bad for you stuff.

Grew up with Moms homemade treats, so I have a sweet tooth--cakes, cookies, pies.
Made from scratch where I can limit the amount of sugar and try to add healthy pumpkin, zucchini, etc. But still not a health food !

never had a pizza cheesesteak sandwich. that sounds really good.

Go Chicken Go gizzards. I used to put down a pound of them not now. Best gizzards in the world, no they're not chewy.

I live in New Orleans, and you want me to pick a favorite non-healthy dish?

I am not sure which New Orleans dish is my favorite but I'd love to try them all today and get back to you. Unfortunately my waistline won't let me do that.

Meanwhile I guess I'll go with Mandina's Shrimp Creole. Or, maybe Trout Meuniere (although my favorite restaurant for that has been gone since Katrina). One must contemplate the good old standard Shrimp Po'Boy, but even better, how about Chicken Breast Parmesan or OMG, let's not forget Chicken Piccata.

But I forgot desserts, since I limit myself to one each year. The Banana Blueberry Pie at Impastato's has to be my favorite dessert. I love tiramisu but there is something amazing about that banana blueberry pie.

For comfort food, nothing beats a good seafood gumbo.

So many good things to eat, so little time!

I'm with Dash Man on chocolate mint chip ice cream.

Cheeseburgers with bacon.

BBQ anything.

Heck, I can make a salad unhealthy - load that puppy up with chopped ham, grated cheese (favorite is cheddar but any kind will do in a pinch) gobs of extra spicy Italian dressing, sliced jalapeno peppers, a sliced egg or two and pretty much anything else you like, if there's still room. By then I'm up to a small serving bowl size.

:ROFLMAO::dance:A great big half pound Bacon Cheese Burger with a mess of fries, chased down with a pint or three of a good micro brew!

Oops .... I consider pizza & pasta as my "healthy" meals, my unhealthy is ice cream (although if it's slow churn I could always state it's got eggs and cream, both of those being healthy so it's not so bad)

For me, ice cream has been my choice of unhealthy food, but more so now than ever. I was a Haagen Dazs vanilla addict for many years (with their coffee flavor once In awhile), but now I've found Ontario's Kawartha Dairy ice cream. My new fave is their Death by Chocolate. They sell their vanilla and peanut butter flavors at out local Costco too. They are all good, but Death by Chocolate is my new Haagen Dazs vanilla.

Favorite non-healthy snack these days has to be Doritos Mix taco flavor. I can easily eat half a bag in one sitting, even when I'm not hungry!

Favorite non-healthy dessert is chocolate brownie lava cake, hot out of the oven, with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Pure decadence.

Deep fried Oreos. I limit myself to them twice a year.
