On a percentage basis how much did your net worth increase or decrease by in 2017 ? Yours truly got a 10.7% bump in the right direction. What say you ?

Doesn't matter. Short term market movements are noise. You need a long term strategy.

I'm still working, but my wife is retired and living off pension.
Net worth increased 13.3% in 2017 - pretty incredible.

Net worth (excluding home and personal property) is up 11.9% in 2017, and 22.8% since retiring January 2016. I know this won't last forever, but it has been a great start.

Just updated our spreadsheet. This has been an incredibly good year for us. 41% increase in net worth and second year that it went up by double comma's.

Just doing my year end numbers too. Up a shade over 12%, in retirement (no wage income coming in to offset spending), and despite funding a DAF at the end of the year.

Excluding property, including debt and investments, we have a 14.5% increase.

Big relief for the first full year of retirement!

up 10.5% for 2017 which includes retirement, non- retirement, and cash holdings. Hoping for a great 2018!

NW is +14.05% in 2017. Our expectation for 2018 is much lower - in the single digit area.

My NW for the year is 13.43% up. Something I never would of dreamed of in my full first year of retirement.

Excluding home value (which did go up but I do not count on it for the long term), we were up 12.93%. Best yearly increase for us since the end of 2012.

market gains were 300k for 2017. but we spent 181k .bought a new car, big dental bills for my wife and quite a few trips .

2018 should clock in much less .

About broke even since our very high OOP medical expenditures and pre-paying some costs for DD's upcoming wedding took out the NW increase.

Up 17.4%. I have been debating on whether to cut back on stock exposure but will probably just let it ride a little longer.

+20% or more - Includes new contributions as well as investments. Excludes real property.

20.73%. We contributed money to our retirement accounts, but also withdrew the same amount to purchase a new vehicle. This also excludes our residence. It was a pretty good year!

Up 13.6% not including home equity. :)
