NFL: 2019 Season

As a lifelong Chiefs fan I can’t help but be excited about them this year. Maybe this will finally be Andy’s year.

No connection good or bad to the Chiefs, but it’s hard not to be a Mahomes fan, incredible talent. If he builds from last year, watch out.

Yes, Mahomes is fun to watch.. very improvisational when the circumstances require. Too bad Andy Reid is cursed. :D

Wondering how the Cowboys will do without Zeke. As for Zeke holding out for a big renewal contract while he still has 2 years on his current contract does not go over well with me. That is extortion in my mind, yet so many owners will let some players get away with it. I realize RBs have short shelf lives, but to me it's still negotiating in bad faith.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I don’t like the effects of the holdout. But, Emmitt Smith supports Zeke, and I have to give some weight to that. I just hope it’s resolved quickly.

Seahawks Get Clowney from Texans

Per a tweet from NFL insider Ian Rapoport: "Terms for the #Seahawks trade for Jadeveon Clowney: Seattle gets Clowney, the #Texans get a third-round pick, LB Jacob Martin, and pass-rusher Barkevious Mingo, source said."

.... Unfortunately for me I'll be deployed with the army for nearly the entire regular season, so in addition to taking a 50% pay cut while I'm gone, I don't know if I'll be able to catch any games. Bummer. ....

Thank you for your service.

If you know someone with Dish TV, have them record the games and lend you their Dish credentials and you should be able to view them using the Dish Anywhere app. We do that to watch Patriots games when we are in Florida. Only thing is that I'm not sure if Dish Anywhere works outside the US.... but if it doesn't you might be able to use VPN to spoof a US location.

The NFL's 100th Regular Season begins tonight, with GB vs. CHI.

I hope i'm wrong but I think Chicago wins by double digits. I have a bad feeling about this season for the Packers but.... GO PACK GO!

I think for the game the bigger question is whether the Packers can stop Mitch Trubisky and the Bears' razzle dazzle plays instead of can the Bears stop Rodgers? Rodgers will get his share of points but will that be enough to overcome what the Bears will score? If the Bears offense is like last year, and do the side-to-side swing passes and not use the middle of the field until late in the game, may be too late though.

That's my take .

I forgot tonight was opening night of regular season. I don't really follow either team, but I'll be watching. A regular season game with two teams I don't care about beats a preseason game watching my team.

I think Chicago wins this one. However I say that with the caveat of "this is game 1". We really don't know how good or bad either team is. Frankly it isnt until about game 3 or 4 that you can start pegging who seems to have their crap together and who is going to fall behind.

I always have mixed feelings about the start of the NFL season.

It feels like the end of the summer. :(

But on the other hand, I love watching football with my dad. We've had a great time over the years watching, particularly the last 20 with the Patriots doing so well.

Sadly, this will almost certainly be my dad's last season of watching football. Not sure if he'll last until the Super Bowl or not. We'll enjoy it together as long as we can.

But if Chicago is winning 20-0 at halftime, don't turn the tv off. As we know, anything can happen .

Opinions wanted: in one of my fantasy leagues I ended up with Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, Mitch Trubisky, and David Montgomery on my fantasy team. My other RB is Christian MccCaffrey, who is definitely in my starting lineup. So which pair of QBs/RBs in tonight's game should I start?

joeea, sorry to hear this... enjoy the time as much as you can. might be a good time to blow some dough and take in a home game together at Gillette if your dad is up to it.

Packers looked like crap. Thankfully the Bears looked like.......The Bears

The Bears are who we thought they were. Pass the ball side to side, pass and pass some more playing from behind.
They deserved all the boos showering down during the game. Their offense approached the game like it was their first preseason game.

I know what I won't be spending my time doing on Sundays :(.
