What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

A new Manfrotto gear head for my new tripod.

8 orders in the past 2 days. Every time I order something, I think of something else and order that.

Ordered drafting supplies, woodworking glue and wax, binder clips

A lot of the American girl doll clothes. These dolls have recently beat out Barbie as the new doll of choice for our DGD as well as some Lego sets for her.

A unicorn necklace.
A pair of unicorn earrings.
A unicorn-themed diary.

Can you tell I have a 13-year-old relative to buy Christmas gifts for? :D

OH, I though you were buying presents for Greg Gutfeld!

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a simply amazing story!

Today I just received a box from Amazon, containing Quaker oatmeal, deodorant, and a new 64 oz water bottle.

This Amazon Prime shipment was ordered on September 14th (90 days ago), with 1-day shipping. Amazon declared it missing and sent me a refund for it on September 25th, all on their own initiative without any prodding from me.

USPS finally delivered it to me today, in pristine condition. I am just floored - - so astonished, more than I would have been if a spaceship with aliens had landed in my front yard.

This is what it's like living in [-]a third world country[/-] New Orleans. And yes, I am so happy, not so much that I needed the contents that badly, but that they came through with what they promised to send. Maybe there's hope for the world after all. :D

Wow! Imagine the tales that package could tell if it could talk!:D

I'm trying to imagine what that oatmeal will taste like. Deodorant flavored?

New webcam to sit atop the 32" QHD monitor I recently got for Zoom teaching. The 13" macbook pro wasn't cutting it and now looking off axis from the laptops webcam is distracting.

DS and I ordered the exact same pair of headphones maybe 10 minutes apart as it was quite a good deal. Mine came in two days and his never came and purchase has been refunded. Interesting times.

I just ordered an LED brake fluid moisture detector, which I learned about today on ER.org. Hat tip to Cortina.

A solder pot. Of course one can be sure that it is made in China even if it did not have Chinese characters on the label. Who else in the world makes anything like this anymore?

But I digress...

The price is so cheap ($24), the solder bars to fill its tiny cup will cost more than the pot itself. I need this to tin some electrical parts that take a lot of time to do with a large soldering iron, and the result will be nowhere as good as tin dipping.

I just learned something, as your post made me look up tin dipping, which then lead to reading about Tin Whiskers. Pretty amazing. :flowers:

Ordered some latching switches from Amazon for a project in my camper and the switches they sent were marked "latching" but were actually "momentary". I notified Amazon and they said keep 'em, here is a 100% refund. But I still want the latching switches and there is no comparable choice on Amazon, so I'm trying to figure out if the supplier can sort their stock and send me the correct switches. Frustrating.

Try Ebay--that is where I go for unusual items

I'm starting indoor gardening (microgreens and veggies) in my basement, so I ordered tons of stuff relating to that, including 4ft lights (to be hung from the same-width metal rack shelves) fans, seed starting trays, heat pads, coco coir, timers, etc. I ordered the rack from Costco though (best price).

That's exactly the set up I have for starting seeds in late winter (I transplant the seedlings out to our garden plot in the spring). If I may make a suggestion, instead of fixing the lights to the shelves, get a package of "S" hooks to make a chain that hangs them from the shelf. That way, you can put in a few extra links when you first start the seeds so the lights are right above them, then remove a link at a time to raise the light as the plants grow larger. Thus, you can keep the light the optimal distance from the plant (usually as close as possible without touching).

I’d love to hear how it goes. I’d like to do this for herbs and lettuce, but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Thank you, Gumby. I did see people using chains and it's a great idea, but I decided to follow this guy on Youtube video and hook the lights up through rack holes. (I'm not mechanically inclined or know much about indoor gardening or even germinating seeds (I've always bought seedlings), and this guy showed every step so it was just easier for me.) I'm thinking of using boxes underneath to raise the planter pots if I need to. Honestly though, the lights I ended up ordering are so bright that I wear sunglasses when I look at the rack, so I have a feeling the plants will be OK, but that's just my guess. I've only filled the first 3 shelves with lights. I've placed an order for lights for the remaining shelves with lower wattage..

I pretty much copy-catted everything about the light/rack/fan/timer setup from this video. I watched a bunch of his videos for growing microgreens as well.

I hear you, tb001. I recently purchased an Aerogarden (model called Harvest ) at 50% off, and I started wanting more lettuce and herbs, etc. I watched this Youtube video and that's what I'm aspiring for. I even bought the same kind of dishwashing pans she's using from Dollarama (a Canadian dollar store although it cost $2CAD per pan)!

I have so far planted seeds of different varieties of spinach, lettuce mixes, bok choy and herbs. I also have 3 trays of microgreens going (bean sprouts, pea sprouts and broccoli) at different stages...

I got the lights from Amazon just yesterday and installed them, but not much stuff on the shelves yet as most are still at the germination stage, but here's what it looks like now...

On Sunday I always made a big omlet for breakfast. Unfortunately my large teflon pan does not have a lid so cooking it was a bit more of a chore. After searching Amazon for a lid, I finally gave up and found one large enough on a resturant supply website. Wow. Wholesale can be cheap! Let's see what else they have. Besides the generic stainless steel lid, I ordered a pizza stone, a 6oz ladle for soups and chili, 3 boxes of wax paper sheets (500 count and cheap!), a silicone black bar mat, a thermal coffee carafe and a 3 pound box of Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt. It's the salt used in almost all professional kitchens and most receipes. It's different from other salts because its light salt flakes are formed naturally. I used to be able to find it at the grocery store but last year it went wholesale only. Now I have a multi-year supply.
