Website is open to order your 4 free tests now

thought you were supposed to be able to order four per family member. It only let me order four...period.

For the free orders, it's 4 period (for now). You can also purchase them at pharmacies, etc., and get reimbursed by insurance up to 8 per month per person.

Two separate programs.

We're on the list.

They won't ship to a business address. We live in an apartment right now while building our house and so get our stuff delivered to the local UPS store box.

Unless the test kits would fit in the mailbox at our house build:confused:

Probably due to the shortage, they just want to get some out there. They originally did say 8 per family IIRC.
If you can find tests locally insurance companies are now reimbursing for them, check with them. I heard $12 which seemed very low for reimbursement and I have not heard anything from my insurance company yet.

From the VC Star:
Some Americans will be able to order free coronavirus tests on the new federal government website a day early.
While COVIDTests.gov was expected to start accepting orders on Wednesday, an "Order free at-home tests" button was added Tuesday, which brings users to usps.com/covidtests to order four at-home free tests.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday the site is in its beta phase to allow troubleshooting.
“We can’t guarantee there won’t be a bug or two,” Psaki said, “but the best tech teams across the administration and the Postal Service are working hard to make this a success.”
USA TODAY tested the site and got a message that "COVID-19 tests will start shipping in late January. The Postal Service will only send one set of four free at-home coronavirus tests to valid residential addresses

I haven't heard of any complaints of website issues like when ACA first rolled out. I think that is a pretty good sign. We still have 7 tests from Binax so we aren't ordering any from Uncle Sugar as of yet since I would guess there are a lot more people needing them than us.

I just tried. Got "already ordered for this address". Apparently DW beat me to it

My order was accepted to my PO Box and less than a minute to order. That was almost too easy.... Suspect it will be a while before I actually get them...

Thanks for posting. I just got ours ordered. Also sent the web address to my kids.

I ordered mine this morning and received an e-mail confirmation from USPS that they were ordered. I also ordered the tests for a friend who does not do anything online and called her first to make sure she did want them and to make sure she didn't try to order through any other channels. She was very happy!

Now we can start reporting when we receive our tests in the mail.

Ordered mine. I would normally forgo a free government program like this so more needy people could have my allotment but the program is restricted to 4 per address so I can't pass mine on.

Yes, we ordered ours and I sent the info to kids and siblings.
It was very easy.
