What did you do today? - 2022 version

Been taking care of my wife. She tested positive Tuesday for COVID with a home test. She has trouble breathing, sore throat and fever. We had 2 vaccine shots and 1 booster. She talked to her Dr today. They discussed what she’s doing and then said she was doing all she would recommend and to...

    Does anyone use Roku?

I’ve been a Roku user since 2012 and have 275 channels installed. I currently have 3 Rokus on 3 TVs. I have deleted about 50 channels recently. Some channels have multiple channels within their channel (PlutoTV, tubi, Roku channel, etc). I also use YouTubeTV for my main local network TV app...

What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

I ordered a set of IEM (In Ear Monitors) to listen to music. I have headphones and ear buds but never IEMs. I determined that IEMs are not for me so I returned them.

    Does anyone use Roku?

Roku’s have 100’s of channels as well. PlutoTV is one that I have installed. Roku has the ability to install non-certified channels as well which I have some of those installed as well. Soon, they are removing the non-certified channels. But, honestly I have more channels than I can use...

    Does anyone use Roku?

I have 3 Rokus and recently had to replace one. The new Roku is so much faster and better. Just buy one on sale now. You won’t regret it!

    nothing when I retired

I’ve had a similar experience. Only my last manager who happen to retire a few years before me has kelp in touch at least monthly and sometimes weekly. This is true for my previous long term employment job as well after leaving there. There were about 10 of us that left at the same time at my...

I have no idea where to retire!

I’ve lived in Cookeville as a college student and South of Nashville. Both were great locations. Obviously more to do in Nashville but you would be close to Nashville within a 45 mile radius which I find a better option. This is a great recommendation. Taxes are lower as well in smaller towns...

    Fun "inexpensive" hobbies

I read ebooks with the app Libby that I get free from the library. My goal is to read 52 books a year but I’ve never reached that goal. The closest I’ve come to the goal was 43 books. I also buy music CDs at my local Goodwills for $1.00 per CD. I also have bought quite a bit of used speakers...

    Retirement gift to self?

I bought a new Trek bike and the bike shop set it up for me by adjusting it for my size and riding comfort.

What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

I bought an Esinkin W29-us wireless bluetooth audio adapter for music streaming from my iPhone to my stereo system using Spotify, Pandora and other radio apps. Excellent sounding and convenient. Main reason for buying is that I can charge my phone while streaming to my stereo. Came the day it...

what time do you wake up?

I go to bed and get up whenever I want to now that my wife and I are both retired. Normally it’s between 6:00 and 8:00 AM when I get up. Normally I go to bed between 10 or 12 PM.

To Those Who Value Peace & Quiet

I use an app on my iPhone called White Noise. I use Pink Noise all night long to help me go to sleep and stay asleep until I wake up. This blocks out noise from neighbors and barking dogs. The app is free and has a lot of other noise blocking sounds.

    Availability of Public Bathrooms

We also carried a large pretzel container and an empty workout powder container as backup that we didn’t have to use. They have come in handy before.

    Availability of Public Bathrooms

We just got back from a trip (5-6 hrs each way) and found large truck stops with gas & convenient store products had good restrooms. We also went into a hotel as described by the person quoted.

Do You Enjoy Reading More, Same, or Less Than When Younger?

I’m reading more but not as much as I want to. I set a goal of reading 52 books a year when I retired. So far I’ve read a high of 43 books in 5 years with a grand total of 150 books. A large number of my books have been from James Patterson and Lee Child.
