I have Stafford loans. I am not sure about all the details but you have to file a FASFA and everything to get these federal loans. I have never heard of anyone converting private loans into federal loans. Why didn't she just apply for federal loans in the first place? 12% seems like an aweful...

I guess I had an idea of what my dad made when I was in high school. I probably knew his approximate net worth when I was in college. He still tries to hide it from me even though I let him know mine down to the penny.

I live in NYC and the norm for dinner is around 20%. I rarely go above this and give around 10% is the service was bad. If it's a bar that I frequent where i tend to sit at the bar and chat up the bartender and they are giving me every other drink free, then i tip much more heavily. Believe me...

Going from credit analyst at rating agency (was here 1 year) back to valuation at an accounting firm (8 years experience with 2 Big 4 firms prior to credit analyst)

I took a six week leave of absence once. It was the best thing I ever did. It wasn't too bad returning because while I was gone I decided I would quit my job a few months after returning.

B.S. in Finance. It was the degree to some part, but more the specific coursework I took that got me my first job. Yes degree was relevant, still is.

Jan 1 2008 my company went to a new benefits program, which stinks. And the coverage for out0of-network doctors is abhorent. They are in the middle of a cost cutting phase, of course.... But also of course, they are still charging us the same monthly premium for the insurance....
