    Medicare-Medigap Preparation Question

No experience with Plan N, but in general: 1. Yes 2. I believe it is sent directly to Medicare first, which then forwards to Medigap. 3. No, should not have to do so. 4. Yes

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

Apparently DBAN does not work on an SSD, but supposedly there are other ways, which I personally would not trust. Even physically destroying the SSD can be lacking due to the way they store data. That is why I normally remove them. Supposedly there are places to take them to which grind them...

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

Thanks for your comments. These two were literally new machines which I had never done anything on--not even an email, a document, or anything saved. Nothing other than set up and then did the reset and cleaned the drive anyway through Recovery. I removed them from Microsoft Account and changed...

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

Thanks for the info, so apparently it is then activated with a digital license through the new owner's Microsoft Account, no longer through mine. These had no product activation code to enter--haven't seen those in years--but did activate via digital license when first setting up.

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

On mine I did the reset through Recovery which cleans the drive and resets to new out of the box mode (I hope!) but there was literally nothing on them anyway. Brand new, had used them for nothing. Normally I remove the SSD before recycling.

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

Sorry, not very tech here. So, when I gave the pc to a relative after resetting it, the OEM Windows 11 which was on the pc at purchase, now belongs to the relative, correct? Microsoft doesn't see that it used to belong to the original owner who activated it on their own Microsoft Account and...

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

So, once the device is passed on to someone else, assuming it was "wiped/reset" then when the new recipient sets it up it is theirs with no ties to the previous "owner?" I suppose this would have to be the case otherwise there would be quite a mess with all the computers wiped/reset and...

How Is OEM Windows License Transferred To Different PC Owner?

Not sure I am explaining this correctly. When I get rid of computers, I reset and remove the SSD (and keep) for security reasons and keep the RAM to use the RAM again. As far as I know, that is all which needs to be done (if not, please advise). However, I have had a couple of computers which...

Applying for SS and Medicare at 65

I don't remember needing a Medicare # before setting up an account at Medicare.gov but might be mistaken. Once logging in, the Medicare # is there and one can print a "card" also. But if not, if your claim has processed, if you call Social Security I believe they should be able to give you the...

    Medicare payments for Part A

Once an account has been created it will show the details. I have seen it take anywhere from about a week to a month or so for it to show up on the Medicare site when Medicare is primary. It could take longer since in this case Medicare is apparently secondary.

Here we go again, it’s Daylight Saving Time

To answer my own question, I did some research--apparently back in '73 they started year around daylight savings time but it only lasted about a year, then reverted. There apparently was never a two hour extension. There have been multiple changes from the original 6 months to the current process.

Here we go again, it’s Daylight Saving Time

Does anybody else remember them at least one year--back in the early 70s maybe--turning the clock ahead TWO hours to extend the daylight, possibly because of something to do with oil that year? Maybe I made all that up?

    Medicare Poll

There has now been as of this post 6 who stated Medicare A and B with no supplement. I interpreted that option for the poll as Medicare A and B and no other insurance AT ALL, but due to the lack of anyone commenting on such a choice I now guess some others must have interpreted it differently?

    Medicare Poll

I read that Medigap plans are available in every State, among them AARP/UHC and BCBS. No one has responded as to reasons why they choose Medicare A and B only so it is unclear whether it is a cost factor or a lack of knowledge of options or something else altogether.

    Medicare Poll

The number I saw was that close to 20% of Medicare enrollees have no other coverage other than A and B. That is an astounding number in my opinion, apparently somewhere around 6 million or more people? Perhaps most of these are in the middle income levels, because it would make sense those...
