Just updating this thread to say it is a done deal. Friday was my last day - left the building as an employee for the last time about 10:15 Friday morning. It's easy to agree with the "get out" sentiment ... at least from this distance.

Might be the numbers are bigger than most are comfortable working with. We've all seen the surveys about how most people don't have near that much for their retirement. I bet the same people could figure out how to split a $20 tab 5 ways. Oh wait ... is that before or after tip.

Welcome. Already being a user of ESPlanner myself, the first thing that comes to my mind is to suggest you run the numbers through it or something similar to see what scenario is best for you in terms of impact on your consumable dollars over your lifetime. I'm sure others will have other ideas...

Funny story Midpack. I had a similar comment right after I announced about how I'd die soon after retiring if I did not have big plans. I said I don't think that applies so much to someone at 55.

Is it even possible "to have a million in the bank and take free medical care"? If one can do so without being fraudulent it might be distasteful, but would just be an indicator the laws needed changing. Similar argument to GE not paying taxes. Sorry if this is hijacking a "hi" thread or getting...
