    class c RV

    So far so good (knock on wood). No issues and recalls have been easily taken care of though we do live in Phoenix. Hubby does oil changes and we had the transmission fluid changed way early because we tow a Jeep. That cost us $1000. Ours is a 2020 motorhome with a 2019 chassis (28,000 miles...

    class c RV

    We have a Tiffin Wayfarer Class C (~27’). We’ve had it for 4 years now and purchased just after we retired wo any prior experience camping or RVing. We haven’t looked back! We travel with two german shepherds and added a cat last year. They absolutely love it! We’re on the road 4-30 days at...

    What type of sunscreen do you use?

    I use Paula’s Choice. https://www.paulaschoice.com/extra-care-non-greasy-sunscreen-spf-50/232.html In fact I use many of their facial products.

    Questions About Arizona ACA

    Like Paunchy Pirate said, it depends on the plan and it is a Big time investment. Just within Oscar, we had to change plans for 2023 because they decided not to continue with our plan. Each year I look at all the different providers and identify those that have our current specialists. Then I...

    Questions About Arizona ACA

    Not a PPO, but we chose an OSCAR plan for 2022. We had a Cigna PPO through work and definitely missed the ability to go anywhere. Oscar worked out OK for us because we chose a plan that allowed us to keep our current specialists. Downside is our primary dr of 30 years isn’t on the plan so...

    Yoga to improve bone density, osteoporosis

    I don’t do yoga regularly (though I know I should!), but I do take a supplement called AlgeaCal from Canada. There is quite a following about it on Facebook if interested in learning more and they also have an extensive website with research to back it up. Many many people have had good...

    I’m glad things have worked out well for you. I just want to give you a heads on the lock-in. The light is incredibly bright, a bit unnerving. No pain or issues. I ended up only needing one treatment followed by 2 locks. All Treatments were done in a week and am seeing 20/15 out of that...

    Thanks again for your updates. I also found a few people sharing their experiences on patient.info. https://patient.info/forums/discuss/is-there-any-experience-here-with-the-light-adjustable-lens-lal--757608?page=1#topic-replies It’s very helpful (for me anyways) to know what to expect going...

    Thank you for the update Katsmeow. I ended up having the LAL implant on December 16th in my distance eye and will hopefully have my first adjustment on Friday. Surgery was a breeze and I’m already seeing 20:25. No issues with dryness or flickering. I do have a significant astigmatism which...

    Walking for weight loss

    I definitely agree with the cheat day, especially if you do daily intermittent fasting. I’ve found with fasting that I hit a plateau occasionally which requires you take a break to shake things up. Also, for you coffee drinkers, you CAN have a tablespoon of whipping cream in your coffee and it...

    Walking for weight loss

    I also use intermittent fasting and a low carb/processed sugar diet. Reducing sugars takes weight off the middle, reduces bloating. Getting off sugar takes a good 3 weeks. I also count calories because no diet will work without restricting calories. I follow Dr. Becky...

    What is your favourite "Regular" Sipping Liquor - (Neat No Mixers Except Perhaps Ice)

    I voted “other” as I’ve recently been introduced to SanTan Sacred Stave CaraMellow Salted Caramel Whiskey and Screwball Peanut butter Whiskey. I leave both bottles in the frig. On occasion, I like to sip a bit at night after dinner while watching a show.

    Katsmeow, thank you so much for posting your experiences with the LAL lens. I’m scheduled for a left eye (distance) implant on the 16th. I had my surgical consult yesterday and the doc recommended the LAL due to it’s fine tuning capability after surgery. I had planned on the Eyehance, but...

    2022 ACA Exchange Experiences

    The price of healthcare on the ACA in Arizona is ridiculously expensive. We are going to have a Silver EPO plan that’s $1550/mo. before subsidies, $1045/mo. after. We’re purposefully keeping our expenses down to take advantage of the credit. It may seem reasonable, but the out of pocket for...

    Technis Eyhance IOL

    Does anyone have the Technis Eyhance IOL? I had cataract surgery 3 years ago on my right eye and I went with the Technis Symfony multifocal. My right eye is my reading eye. It has worked well for that, but I find the halos and glare to be annoying, so I’m considering the Eyhance for my left...

    RE 'bridge' to Medicare: how did you decide?

    We’re in a similar situation as OP, although we don’t have the cash to live on until medicare. We are 7 years out. Most of our nest egg is tIRA 401K and a smaller amount is in after tax mutual funds. Has anyone considered taking advantage of the subsidies every other year by doubling up on...

    ACA and 8% rule

    One word of caution with non-ACA compliant plans is that they do not necessarily have to cover preexisting conditions. By law ACA plans have to allow for them. We’ll be coming off of COBRA next June and will be switching over to the ACA then. So great to see this discussion.
