    Alternatives to Quickbooks

I've been using Quickbooks since 2000, in part because that's what I used when I owned a business, and just kept with it. I've got an old copy loaded on the home pc, and notice that they only allow for new online subscriptions, with the monthly fee. Anyone using a different automated checking...

    Public brokerage?

Anyone heard of or using Public as their brokerage? I noticed a TV commercial, focused mostly on Treasuries. I'm a mutual fund and index fund investor, and don't seek unique portfolios or alternate investment strategies, which is what is seems Public does. Am I missing something?

    Simple roth question

I fund a Roth 401k through work to capture the corporate 3% match and I'm thinking of opening separate accounts for me and my wife. I currently contribute $6,500. I could increase contributions from pay, but figure, I've got $25,000 sitting in my stock market account sitting SWVXX. Since I've...

American First Class EWR to ORD

Anyone have experience with American Airlines cabin options? Looking to fly to Chicago from Newark and what I can best tell their first class option (main cabin, I think) is half the price of United's First Class, and a little over $100 cheaper than United Economy Plus. American lists beverage...

    Blue Zones

Great docu on Netflix about pockets of the world, called "blue zones," with the highest concentration of long lived people. Take away, stay active, engaged with family and community, smart diet (they focused on plant based) and a host of other things. 4 parts, 40 minutes each.

    Medical Alert options

Helping wife find options for her (our) parents, who are in Florida (we are in NJ) in the event they fall. Father in law is 80 and suffered brain damage in a car accident and does not have the best balance. Mother in law is 75 and in good health, but if I were to give her a label, "frail"...

    Bouncing around online savings accounts

We were at a BBQ last weekend and my Uncle mentioned Marcus paying over 4% on his savings account. I was happy with 3 and change at Discover, then he mentioned a bonus if he refers me. Just opened the account, good for over 5% for 3 months. I've never really bounced around accounts, or even...

    Therapy before Retirement

Anyone second guess their decision before retiring? "Am I doing it for the wrong reason" type of question? I like to make decisions after considering all angles, and this is the one that still nags at me. Wondering if anyone else has felt the same way (I assume many have) and if you did...

    Hello Forum

New member here. I found the forum a few months ago and love the sense of community you have here. I made the mental decision to pull the plug in June of 2021, and when I say made the decision, it was more of an epiphany. We were a year and a few months into covid and I recall it the moment...
