    Recommendations for new kitchen cabinets.

Completed our new kitchen in April/May. We went with cabinets.com - great reviews on Houzz message boards, no MDF, solid hardware...majority of base cabinets are drawer bases (mentioned earlier they are GREAT!!). Excellent customer service and working with their ‘designer’ was easy (I submitted...

    Who here takes aspirin daily?

Cardiologist has me on two baby aspirins per day-biological father (and HIS father) each died at 34 from heart attacks. One paternal aunt had two stents installed when she was 50. At 50 now, I willingly take these, a statin, and a low dose BP pill. I still have things to do-such as enjoy...

Did your employer have min retirement age?

55 with 25 years of service...if 25 years of service - a reduction of the percentage of your high 3 salary years under age 55 (categorized as "early retirement"). Happily taking a reduced percentage! If you came into state employment in past few years, age 60 is new age for pension...

What made you cynical/clear-eyed about work?

My parents retired a little early (60 & 54) - and watching them relax and have fun was the motivation I needed to plan accordingly! I have too many things I want to do, and the work things just gets in the way!

Do you have a zero withdrawal rate?

Come December, I'll be at 0% WR (my first state pension should be deposited 01 Dec) - two pensions (military & state) plus VA disability cover ALL expenses with plenty of play money - but house is paid off, and we are exempt from property tax. Grateful for some of the good decisions I made once...
