2 cents, new PBS shorts on financial topics

My DW came across several new short videos about financial topics running on PBS facebook page.(see link) You can also stream them on PBS. They seem to be targeted at younger folks, but the messages are outstanding (lbym, etc). They make complicated financial topics easy to understand. Seems like big business would hate these videos. This group may appreciate the message and you may want to show them to your kids (we have forwarded the link to our 3) JMHO

I had been trying to get our twentysomething DS to take a interest in FI - with little success. Then, the "I'm 85 and I wanna go home" commercials started playing on TV. Those hit home and he came to me asking to learn more!!! We've gotten through understanding stocks, bonds, mutual funds, CD's, and the miracle of compounding.

Lots more to go, but these snippets may be a great resource!

It's not like we stop doing dumb things after they have been pointed out to us once. We are wired to do them and need the reminders to keep paying attention. Or at least I do! Thaler's book, pointed out at the end of the video is worth reading and re-reading too.

+2 Yep. Luckily I invested/auto deducted first before I did all that other dumb stuff over the decades.
