We've been saving at a rather low rate for many years (~11% of income) but also have rental properties that should be paid off before we pull the trigger. So our paper assets will only be around $400K, but the rentals should provide enough income so that we don't really need to touch the stocks & bonds. Our house is paid off, no debts except those tied to the business we run, and those should be paid off around the time we retire too.

Congratulations! Are your rental properties very time consuming?

What are you planning to do with all your new free time?

Congratulations.
Use these next two years to firm up your plan, then sit back and enjoy your days!
Who knows, you may find you can leave earlier.

Congratulations! I'm hoping you have a plan for extended vacancies and/or major repairs/renovations? From what I hear, those are the landlord's equivalent of a market recession/depression.
