We always get bombarded with the latest "It bleeds, so it leads" news. However, here are a few thought provoking charts that suggest that a little optimism may be in order.

First paragraph--


"We have a massively unpopular, scandal-plagued president whose aides are being convicted of serious federal felonies. Overt, old-fashioned racism is publicly visible and powerful in a way it wasn’t only five years ago. More than 200 admired, powerful men have been accused of sexual misconduct or assault."


And you say this is a positive article. The glaring bias makes me skeptical. I am going back to read the rest.

Some good info on lower crime/homicide rates, lower poverty levels, more people living in democracy, better education, but the multiple links to Trump bashing articles turned me off. The author didn't need to go there to make his point.
