a little tip on avoiding ATM fees

We just discovered our credit union belongs to Allpoint (www.allpointnetwork.com). If your bank belongs, you can use any ATM in their network without the surcharge.

We just tried it today. I wasn't sure it was going to work, b/c I had to "agree" to a $2.00 service charge. However, when I got my receipt, there was no charge.

This is great, especially if you travel a lot and are away from your primary bank.

Yep, WellsFargo pays us back even if we don't use one of their ATMs.

Before our bank waived our ATM fees we used to find a retailer who took our debit card and offered cashback. Added $100 to the charge and counted out the change.
