A question for those who have already ERd. How does the way you actually spend your time compare with what you anticipated it would be like? Conventional wisdom would say do not ER unless you have a plan for how you will fill up your days and stay busy. But in talking to people who have retired, it seems like they are actually just as busy as when they worked – only now it is the things they want to do. And I’ve talked to many people who were only able to discover a new interest, hobby, or passion AFTER they had retired. It took some time away from the rat race to determine what they really wanted to do in retirement. Has this happened to you?
