Surfed the Web earlier this morning, while drinking my coffee. Saw that the Dow was down more than 300 points. Darn! Did not buy or sell anything.

I sleep through the gyrations... Inevitably, the pictures are of people in funny clothes playing some kind of a game with balls. I typically watch a little of that action out of curiosity...
...and reinforces (for me) why I spend my time trading instead of playing with my Yoyo.
Looking on the bright side, the covered calls I sold a couple of weeks ago expired today out of the money
Even so, this month I cleared $9,426 on option premiums, to be exact. Nowhere near enough to make up for the portfolio loss, but every dollar counts.
I like the that +/-5% thresholds. Both selling and buying. Sold VXUS and bought VEU to tax loss harvest. VEU dropped, so sold VEU and bought IXUS. Captured $25k of long term losses and $10k of short term losses. Didn't do any rebalancing because my +/-5% bands have not been triggered. Just following my plan.
I like the that +/-5% thresholds.
It's good to have rules; otherwise, I might give in to my urge to do something when doing nothing is better.
Only selling for the remainder of my life (but none needed at the moment luckily).
Spent first 50 years only buying, next 50 years (hopefully) only selling.
