I agree w/everything Bamaman said, except it’s Voltaran
My mother has hand arthritis. She was having to wear a hand brace. I got her some Hemp CBD creme and her hands are MUCH better. She no longer has to wear a brace. She says the CBD creme is much better than Voltaren.
Used topically?Friends of mine use CBD oil with good results.
No reason she cannot use'em both--for even more relief.
My wife's also taking CBD oil, but has found they vary in strength. She's found a brand that actually tastes like peppermint. She's also easier to live with when she takes a couple of droppers a day.
Voltaren gel is one of the very useful things I've learned about here (there have been so many!). Just learned yesterday that it is now available OTC in the US (without a prescription).
DW has arthritis and she likes it very much for her hands and feet. In the past I used to pick up a couple of tubes whenever I visited Canada but it's nice to finally have the FDA agree that it's just a normal drug in the same category as aspirin.
Oops, my bad. I just double-checked and it's actually Voltaren. It only works for 4 hours or so, but it is effective for short periods.
I also take Meloxicam pills once per day.
can get into the bloodstream from skin absorption (so use same cautions as with other NSAIDs).
The following is reported based on pharmacokinetic studies of the drug:
- Systemic exposure with Voltaren Gel (4 x 4 g per day) is,on average, 17 times lower than with oral treatment (i.e. only 6%) of diclofenac sodium.
- Systemic exposure with Voltaren Gel (4 x 12 g per day) is, on average, 5 times lower than with oral treatment (i.e. only 20%) of diclofenac sodium.
- The average peak plasma concentration with the recommended use of Voltaren® Gel (4 x 4 g per day applied to 1 knee) is 158 times lower than with the oral treatment.
