Okay, so the plan's from her advisors since she's a wack job and all. Given her age, a SWR of 3% is about 1.2M/year. Looks like she'll have to cut back on the 100k/month travel budget and 16k/month clothing budget. Man, must be tough, plus I'm guessing she has to pay for health insurance.

I assume that a court has ruled her incompetent to manage her own affairs?

Otherwise, I don't see how these (no doubt well-meaning) "conservators and advisors" have the authority to dictate her spending habits. Surely it is the legal and moral right of every adult to [-]waste[/-] spend their money as they wish.

Answering my own question: I guess if conservators are involved, a conservatorship has been imposed; which means that she has indeed been declared legally incompetent.
