Charities

Some local, but not eliminating the non-local or those with administrative fees (although I wouldn't want them too high).
 
And now that we have heard from Mr. Scrooge...

I understand the sentiment. There *are* a lot of scammy charities that prey on people's generosity. Services like GuideStar and others are helpful in avoiding the obvious scams.

I'm inclined to help kids rather than adults. Kids can find themselves in bad circumstances beyond their control. Adults, well, often it's the choices they make.

This year we added two charities that were favorites of an Aunt who passed.

I'll also add that we've been using a donor advised fund set up with Vanguard Charitable and they make giving easy.

Thank you. yeah, sometimes a story really hits me and its a way for me to help, in a small way. And it allows me to fulfill my Santa Claus fantasy :LOL:
